Raku Pottery & Sculpture

AM Class: Raku Clay Pottery  Create spectacular clay works of art using a prismatic glazing & firing technique called raku.  Students will fire their ceramics peices outdoors using raku firing techniques that involve fire torches and smoke!  Students will work with both hand building and pottery wheel throwing techniques in this series of classes.

PM Class: Trope l'oeil Clay Sculpture  Students will learn hand building techniques such as slab rolling, modelling, carving and glazing while creatin sculptures that fool the eye, meaning they look real, as if they are made out of a material other then clay.  Past projects include making ballons, metal cages, wood baskets, cloth shoes or even faux food with clay.

July 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28.

Cost: Full Day Camp $150 for Members or $225 for Non-Members; Half Day Class $75 for Members or $112.50 for Non-Members.
