Call to Artists:

New Kids on the Block, A juried exhibition featuring emerging artists (college students and recent graduates).

The next generation of artists has been fine-tuning their techniques, processes and conceptual focus while logging in countless hours in studios across the Region. Whether in a traditional academic program, or working steadfast on their own, these artists are the newest emerging talent in our communities.  It is vital to the strength of our Region that we continue to nurture and support the the next generation of artists.  New Kids on the Block will highlight the multi-faceted work created by traditional and non-traditional students and recent graduates. 

Exhibition runs: March 1-30, 2019.

Location: TEJAS Gallery in Dayton, OH.  

Eligibility:  Open to emerging artists residing in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Media: All media will be considered for this exhibition, including photographs, drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, sculptures, video, installation, digital art, and mixed media pieces.

Entry fee:  Up to 4 images may be submitted for $25.  Entries must be completed via the website.  Payments can be made at the time of entry through CAFÉ or with check or money order made payable to K12 Gallery & TEJAS.  Artists accepted to exhibit will not be charged additional fees of any kind.

Jurors: Bridgette Bogel, Associate Professor of Art, Sinclair Community College, Ann B. Kim, Associate Professor of Fine Arts, Indiana University East and Danielle Rante, Associate Professor of Art, Wright State University.

Delivery and Return of Work:  All work accepted for the exhibition should arrive ready to install.  Work may be hand delivered or shipped.  Shipped works should be sent in a reusable package with return shipping prepaid.  Works must arrive at K12 & TEJAS by the specified dates.  Artists are responsible for all shipping costs.

Sale of Work:  All work, unless indicated as not for sale (NFS), will be available for sale during the exhibition.  K12 Gallery & TEJAS only retains a 20% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition.

Liability:  Artist maintains responsibility of insuring the work during shipping, travel, and exhibition.  K12 Gallery & TEJAS will take great care in handling the artwork during the show but will not be liable if damage occurs.

Submission of images:  Digital images/files will need to be uploaded on the website.  Image files should be in HIGH QUALITY JPEG format.  Images should be oriented and cropped properly. The Gallery will retain the submitted images of accepted artwork and reserves the right to use the images in publications and gallery publicity.
