Scholastic Art Award exhibit at K12 Gallery & TEJAS

The Miami Valley Regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibit, which will be on display through March 3, showcases this year’s outstanding student work including film, video, animation, writing, photography, painting, sculpture, fashion, drawing, graphic design and ceramics.

In total, K12 received over 1,400 student artwork submissions from a 10-county area with winners chosen by a panel of local artists, authors, educators, and arts professionals. Judging was based on originality, technical skill, and emergence of personal vision or voice.

Gold Key recipients will compete for national honors at the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards held in New York City at Carnegie Hall. The national program, in its 93rd year celebrates future artist and upcoming processes. National winners and educators receive more than $250,000 in awards and scholarship.

The Miami Valley Regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibit concludes with a student award ceremony from 6-9:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3. The exhibition and ceremony event is open and free to the public. The gallery is located at 341 S. Jefferson, Dayton.
