February:  Contemporary Clay Sculptures: Altered Forms, Cubist Clay Portraits and Mono-printed & Etched Surfaces

Get your hands dirty in the pottery studio while learning a slew of clay techniques and processes.  Students will explore both hand-building and pottery wheel-throwing techniques that puts an emphasis on surface details and glazing techniques.  Gleaning inspiration from Cubism and artists such as Picasso, students will create an abstract self-portrait.  After creating abstract sculptures on the pottery wheel, students will explore mon-printed and etched surface techniques.
