Description

Painting Intensive: July 20-24; 9:30-3:00

AM: Self Portraits with Acrylic Self-portraits are a reflection of our identity. This camp will guide you in the creation of a dynamic large scale self-portrait painting.  Learn a variety of painting mechanics including color mixing and paint application using acrylic paints. Composition, color, form, shape and value will be explored while working learning about proportions and space.  Discover a mood or narrative to bring into your painting while looking at examples of background, light and colors used by famous artists.

PM: Modern Master Paintings in Oil One of the best ways to learn to paint is by looking at how Master Artists do it.  This camp will teach you the basics of oil painting while you work on your own large-scale interpretation of a Modern Master Artwork.  Modern Master Artists worked in the 20th century and ushered in brighter colors, more abstraction and modern content and include Cezanne, Soutine, Monet, Manet, Munch, Redon, Matisse and Gauguin. Finally, create smaller prints and stickers of artworks created this week, perfect to sell at the Creative Kids Artist Market at the end of Summer.
