Minecraft Meets Art: June 29-July 3; 9:30-3:00
Explore the world of Minecraft while combining science, math and art! Draw and paint pixilated art and make a hand-built miniature art museum constructed in the way similar to the Minecraft Game (except with actual 3D foam-core blocks and walls vs. virtual ones). Students will select a famous art museum such as Musee D’Orsay in Paris, France or the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and will create a miniature version of it, complete with miniature art inside. Students will learn about the floor plans and architecture of the museum and will re-create their favorite portion of it. Once their miniature museum is complete, they will select their favorite work of art that really exists in the museum and will create a pixilated version of it on canvas.
