CLASSES AND CAMPS

K12 & TEJAS provides hands-on art making experiences with a focus on personal creative development.  During the school year, on-site classes are the bread-and-butter for K12 Gallery  and include K through 2nd Grade, 3rd-5th Grade, 6th-8th Grade, 9th-12th Grade and Adult Saturday Art Classes, Teen Artist-in-Training and Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art Classes, Homeschool Art Classes, and Summer Art Camps.  These studio classes are led by local professional teaching artists who specialize in the media being taught and cover the gambit of visual art mediums.

Summer Art Camps and Saturday Art Classes are specifically tailored for kids in grades Pre-K, K-2nd Grade, 3rd-5th Grade, 6th-8th Grade, 9th-12th Grade or Adults. Students work with a variety of materials while learning new techniques, creating and having fun!  The classes offered include drawing, painting, clay, sculpture, mixed media, stained glass, mosaics, hot glass, glass blowing, photography, digital art, printmaking, and more.

Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art Program is a college-level course designed for High School Juniors and Seniors who are seriously interested in art.  Students create a portfolio of art that has an opportunity to earn college credit, AP credit, or both, while still in high school.  The student’s portfolio can also be used in competitions and as part of their college application.  The AP Studio Art course is tailored not only to address the wide scope of the Elements and Principles of Art, but also to allow for the pursuance of each individual student’s interest in a specific area of art making.

The Artist-in-Training Program is an after-school art program for teens in grades 6-9.  Students learn foundation level visual art skills while making art with a variety of materials and techniques.  Students can opt to attend one day per week, two days, or all sessions.  Students are welcome to join at any point in the year.  These classes cover drawing and illustration, painting, clay, sculpture and mixed media.

Saturday Art Classes

Kids Saturday Art Classes are offered for students in Pre-K through 2nd Grade and 3rd through 5th Grade. Students explore new materials and processes while having fun in our creative art studios.

Kids Summer Art Camps

Summertime at K12 Gallery is one of our most popular times of year. We offer Pre-K Mini Art Camps, and full or half day Art Camps for K-2nd Grade and 3rd-5th Grade students. Camps run for one week M-F from 9:00am-3:30pm.

Artist-in-Training After School Art Program

Our Artist in Training After School Art Program is open to students in grades 5-10. Classes run from 4-6pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Make friends while creating art!

Saturday Art Classes

Ready to have some serious fun at the most creative space in Dayton? These studio classes are designed for students to learn new media and techniques while taking their creativity to the next level. Geared towards students in Grades 6-8 and 7-12.

After-School Art Classes

TEJAS has 3 different after school art classes open to students in grades 5-12. We offer our Artist in Training Program, Pre-AP Portfolio Prep Classes and our Advanced Placement Program.

Summer Art Classes & Camps

TEJAS offers 9 weeks of Summer Art Classes, Camps and Intensives for Flex Credit. Classes and camps run for one week with morning and afternoon class options. A great opportunity to learn a new media or technique!

Saturday Art Classes

Our Adult Saturday Art Classes are perfect for beginner or intermediate level students interested in learn a new media or process. Classes run for one month on Saturdays from 11am-1pm.

Adult Evening Classes

Our Adult Evening Classes give students the opportunity to explore the tools and techniques of a particular medium. Perfect for those interested in growing their artistic practice, learning some insider skills, or finding a creative community. These four week long classes run on Wednesdays from 7:00pm-9:00pm

From painting and drawing to glass blowing and mosaics, our summer adult art classes offer students age 13+up the opportunity to learn a new media or develop new techniques with a media already enjoyed. Classes run on Fridays 9:30am-12:00pm or 12:30pm-3:00pm for one week.
